When Delaware North was appointed to the MCG in 2022, we had a vision to revitalize the Non-Match Day experience and grow events beyond the boundary. MCG Events was created to fulfil this vision, with a large focus on the business events audience, particularly International Incentive and Domestic Association, complementing the existing local corporate audience. Over the past 2 years MCG Events have been recognised across industry with several awards highlighting the innovation brought to the market.

An opportunity to the join the MCG Events team is now available, stepping in to the role of Event Manager. You will take lead on client relationships from booking to event day, as you steer each event to greatness with specialised event curation.

Your role is responsible for being the conduit between the client, the culinary department, and our operations team as you develop event orders, floor plans, and manage the communications internally for all event related detail. The role is also vital in managing the expectations of our client, the Melbourne Cricket Club, and delivering on our promise of exceptional, world class events. You will need to be creative, innovative and have a desire to take events beyond guest expectations.

The following skills will be highly regarded:

  • Understanding of the Events market locally, nationally and internationally
  • Exceptional client management skills and understanding of how to elevate their event requirements
  • An ability to time manage, and understand how to prioritise a demanding and growing work load
  • High level of knowledge and passion in food and beverage
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments
  • Ability to work with Momentus / Ungerboeck, Microsoft Office, Event Draw, and other event related platforms
