WARNE: Treasures of a Legend

A special exhibition celebrating Shane Warne, and the moments that saw him crowned the ‘King of Spin’, is now open at the Australian Sports Museum at the MCG. He captivated the world with his talent and signature skills, and now fans will have the chance to discover prized items from Shane Warne’s sporting career.

WARNE: Treasures of a Legend invites you to explore Warne’s own collection, with personal items and memorabilia carefully annotated by the legend himself. Highlights of the display include the famous ‘Gatting Ball’, his 1999 Cricket World Cup winners medal, worn Test match shirts and boots, and his iconic floppy white hat. Get up close with the ball Warne bowled to achieve his 700th Test wicket in 2006, and reminisce, or simply imagine, how it felt to be part of the standing ovation in his home crowd at the ‘G.

VTIC Industry Dinner

The MCG is a Victorian symbol, so it was the ideal choice to host this year’s Victoria’s Tourism industry dinner – and hero a combination of sporting greatness, fused with Victorian produce against the backdrop of the iconic stadium.

MCG Events proudly hosted the Victorian Tourism Industry Council Dinner as part of the Destination Victoria conference – held over two days in the East Melbourne precinct.

Following Day One of the conference at Centrepiece at Melbourne Park – guests walked across the connecting footbridge and began the nights festivities with a viewing of the Australian Sports Museum.
