Sweta Baichoo– Executive Sous Chef

I started at the MCG in early 2023, and I am extremely excited and proud to be working here. It is Australia’s most famous stadium and being a part of the culinary team here is one of my highest achievements.

I was born in Mauritius, and my dad is a retired farmer, so I grew up around local and organic produce and this has always been strongly engrained in me and my food philosophy. I love Melbourne for its food scene, and the multicultural mix within the city. This shines through in the amount of variety on offer.

One thing I am extremely passionate about is empowering women in culinary environments. I have always thought there was a lack of female figures in the industry, and I always wondered why. I strive create an environment where everyone is comfortable to be, regardless of gender.
